Tbilisi Professional State Puppet Theater named after Giorgi Mikeladze (Tbilisi Georgian Puppet Theater) — the first professional state puppet theater in Georgia, founded in 1934 in Tbilisi. Under the initiative of Mikeladze, who was also the first head. During the years of the USSR-Germany war (1942-1945), war-themed plays were staged in the theater: K. Gogiashvili's "Grey Wolf", S. Serpinski "How Hitler sold his soul to the devil" and others. In 1940-50, plays for adults were also staged. Already in this period, the theater successfully mastered all puppet management systems and all scenic forms. The theater systematically successfully participated in Georgian, transcaucasian and international festivals and symposiums of puppet theaters. Since 1960, the State Puppet Theater has been a collective member of UNIMA.
