Description

“Natsarkekia” is the title of a performance based on сюжетные фрагменты of famous Georgian fairy tales. This production offers a fresh and unique interpretation, bringing together different fairy-tale characters, well known to the audience, within one story.

The story unfolds around the main character, Natsarkekia. Along the way, we meet Komble, the cunning fox, Chinchraka, the king’s daughter, as well as characters such as the goat and the lamb.

While the storyline changes, the timeless values of kindness, friendship, and love remain unchanged.

Tbilisi Professional State Puppet Theater named after Giorgi Mikeladze (Tbilisi Georgian Puppet Theater) — the first professional state puppet theater in Georgia, founded in 1934 in Tbilisi. Under the initiative of Mikeladze, who was also the first head. During the years of the USSR-Germany war (1942-1945), war-themed plays were staged in the theater: K. Gogiashvili's "Grey Wolf", S. Serpinski "How Hitler sold his soul to the devil" and others. In 1940-50, plays for adults were also staged. Already in this period, the theater successfully mastered all puppet management systems and all scenic forms. The theater systematically successfully participated in Georgian, transcaucasian and international festivals and symposiums of puppet theaters. Since 1960, the State Puppet Theater has been a collective member of UNIMA.
