Description

“What Has the Lullaby Done?!” is a puppet performance based on a story by the Georgian writer Jakob Gogebashvili.
At its heart is a Georgian family — a mother, a father, and their only daughter, Keto. Her carefree and happy childhood ends when two Lezgi men take her away from her home and sell her in Dagestan to a kind but childless family.
Built around Georgian musical motifs, the play tells the story of a Georgian girl’s transformation into a Lezgi woman and the magical power of the Georgian lullaby “Iavnana”, which awakens Keto’s forgotten memories of childhood.
The main character of the play is the author himself, Jakob Gogebashvili, who narrates the story directly to the audience.
The performance is recommended for audiences aged 4 and up.
