Description

“Circus” is a play co-directed by Nikoloz Sabashvili and Bakhva Tserediani. The production represents another important theatrical experiment within the diverse repertoire of the Giorgi Mikeladze Tbilisi Professional State Puppet Theatre, where most of the characters appear as marionettes.

The story centers on a remarkable clown from a small town, admired for his talent and loved by everyone. The town lived its ordinary life, and the clown expressed his affection for people through unique circus performances. One day, however, everything changed — a beautiful and gifted young woman appeared, and the clown fell in love with her. By the director’s decision, the girl was invited to join the circus troupe, while the clown was left outside and gradually forgotten.
Soon the peaceful rhythm of life was broken — monsters invaded the town, people locked themselves indoors, the circus arena stood empty, and everything around became motionless. At that moment, the forgotten clown decided to help his townspeople through his art. Through this act, he regained his former glory and, most importantly, his beloved.

The synchronized alternation of stage scenes follows a coherent dramatic flow that ultimately conveys the noble ideals of kindness and love.

(Recommended for children aged 6 and above, as well as adult audiences.)

Already in this period, the theater successfully mastered all puppet management systems and all scenic forms.
