Snowy

In a small town in Japan lives a fluffy snow-white dog named Snowy. He spends his days happily playing with his best friend — a little boy.

One day, everything changes. Snowy meets an old muddy-colored dog named Seji. Before they can truly become friends, Seji is captured and locked in a cage by dog catchers. Snowy is heartbroken that he could not save his friend. In frustration, he digs into the ground and lies there, hoping to forget everything.

When he climbs back out, he realizes he has forgotten nothing, and nothing around him has changed... except for one thing — he is now completely covered in mud. To make things worse, even the little boy no longer recognizes him. Now he is completely alone.

Suddenly, he notices a kite floating in the sky and begins to follow it. The kite leads him to places where people and animals need help. He rescues a girl from a fire, saves a sheep from a wolf, and pulls a drowning child out of a raging river.

Stories of his heroic actions appear in the city newspapers every day. The mayor orders all captured stray dogs to be released and announces a reward for the muddy-colored fluffy dog.

In the end, Snowy becomes white as snow once again — the river washes all the mud away. He continues following the kite, first reuniting with Seji, and then returning home. This time, the little boy recognizes his friend and welcomes him back with joy.
