A touching and profound drama that celebrates the beauty and fragility of human existence.
John May is a small, quiet, and unassuming man, a direct descendant of Makar Devushkin from Dostoevsky's "Poor Folk". His job is quite Dostoevskian too: for over twenty years, he has worked at a funeral office, diligently searching for the relatives of those who lived and died alone. But times are changing, and John falls victim to downsizing. He has to conduct one last investigation and, who knows, maybe find something more than just friends and relatives of another deceased person.
