GASTRO EVENING: “Cheese + Wine: Aging Together”
Smells like maturity — an evening where the cheese speaks and the wine agrees.
This is a truly unique experience: a vertical tasting of artisanal cheeses and wines, side by side, vintage by vintage. Aging flatters many cheeses and wines — and we invite you to see it for yourself.
Creating a tasting of monobrand wines across different vintages is already a rarity in Georgia — a small country, with strong character, tourist buzz, and fast-drinking habits. Pairing it with a matching line-up of cheeses? That’s almost unheard of.
This one-of-a-kind tasting features only handcrafted products from small producers:
Cheeses made using French techniques by Irina Pliner
The finest wines from boutique wineries in eastern and western Georgia
All accompanied by handmade bread and confitures from Evgenia Popova
Tasting highlights include:
Blanc — soft cheese with a delicate white rind
& smoked pepper confiture
Otskhanuri Sapere red dry wine by Gia Chubinidze (Nanua, Terjola, Imereti):
young cheese / 2023 vintage& tomato-basil confiture
Saperavi wines by Giorgi Solomnishvili (Telavi, Kakheti), Vazha Uzunashvili (Mukuzani, Kakheti), Dmitry Bantle (Dzegvi, Kartli):
