Lumos invites you to a free open class of the two-month course on learning the Ancient 10-Form Tai Chi Chuan sequence,
on January 31 at 7:00 PM.
The Ancient 10 Forms of the Yang style are unique in character — unlike modern contemporary forms, they are distinguished by their lightness, fluidity, and a greater capacity for cultivating and accumulating energy.
Yuri learned the Ancient 10 Forms 45 years ago from the Chinese master Dai Chao and has been sharing this practice with the community of dynamic meditation practitioners ever since.
Course dates:
From February 5 to April 5
Tuesdays and Thursdays
8:00 PM – 9:30 PM
What will you gain during the two-month Tai Chi course?
Learn the complete Ancient 10-Form Yang-style sequence — the foundation upon which all Tai Chi practice is built;
Learn meditation in movement — how to be relaxed and focused at the same time;
Strengthen the body gently: improved balance, flexibility, and coordination;
Experience internal energy (Qi) and its natural flow through the body;
Learn breathing techniques that calm the nervous system and replenish energy;
Reduce stress and tension — movement becomes a tool for self-regulation;
Develop a deeper connection to the ground, making movements more stable and rooted;
Gain a practice you can perform independently after completing the course;
Create your own rhythm through slow, continuous movement, bringing greater calm, clarity, and inner centeredness into daily life.
Tai Chi, often described as meditation in motion, combines elements of martial arts and dance.
Its movements are soft, fluid, and airy, and are directed toward cultivating inner strength.
Core principles of Tai Chi:
Relaxation and naturalness — all movements are performed softly, without unnecessary tension. The body is relaxed yet ready to act;
Slowness and continuity — movements flow slowly and seamlessly, as if following a current, allowing you to sense internal energy and gain better body control;
Internal energy (Qi) — Tai Chi focuses on cultivating and guiding Qi, which moves through the body and nourishes organs and systems;
Unity of opposites — the constant integration of softness and strength, tension and relaxation, yin and yang, creating harmony and balance;
Grounding — developing a strong connection with the earth, as if rooting deeply into the ground, giving movements stability and power;
Circular movements — Tai Chi movements are circular, supporting the harmonious circulation of Qi throughout the body;
Focus and awareness — attention to sensations, breath, and movement enhances coordination and concentration.
Benefits of regular Tai Chi practice:
Improved physical health — increased flexibility, coordination, strength, and endurance;
Improved mental well-being — reduced stress, better sleep quality, and enhanced concentration;
Increased vital energy and life force;
Disease prevention, supporting cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and other body systems;
Spiritual growth and self-awareness.
This course is suitable for both beginners and experienced Tai Chi practitioners.
Course fee (2 months): 450 GEL
Registration requires a 40% deposit (180 GEL).
The remaining balance must be paid in full by January 25.
