Few filmmakers have explored the strange, uncertain space between reality and imagination as consistently as Richard Linklater. With A SCANNER DARKLY, he turned to Philip K. Keanu Reeves stars as Bob Arctor, an undercover narcotics agent assigned to infiltrate a group of small-time drug users in a near-future America devastated by addiction and surveillance. As his investigation deepens, Bob finds himself trapped in an impossible situation, forced to spy on the people closest to him while gradually losing his own grip on reality.
