On January 13, at the Griboyedov Theater, SPARKS presents a concert by composer and singer-songwriter Zviad Bolkvadze together with the children of the “Ranina” project.

Zviad Bolkvadze is a composer, performer, conductor, and arranger working across various genres. His choral and symphonic works are frequently performed by different ensembles.

He received academic training at the V. Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire: a Master’s degree in conducting and Doctoral studies in composition.

Since 2008 — composer and soloist of the Georgian State Chamber Choir (the choir of the Holy Trinity Cathedral).
Since 2012 — conductor of the children’s choir “Ana-Bana.”
Since 2016 — artistic director and conductor of the G. Kurashvili Abkhazian State Chapel.
Since 2023 — artistic director of the Batumi State Music Center.

Zviad Bolkvadze has participated in many television projects, including “Geostar,” “Ana-Bana,” “Only Georgian,” and “Ranina.”

Since 2007, he has worked in the genre of film music and has composed scores for around ten films, as well as music for theatrical productions.

He is also the author of choral and orchestral arrangements of the hymns and chants of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness Ilia II.

He performs concerts both in Georgia and internationally (Switzerland, Israel, France, USA, Belgium, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Ukraine, Azerbaijan).

The concert will be accompanied by a live band.
The participating children from “Ranina” are: Anastasia Vasadze, Andria Futkaradze, Anita Abgaryani, Lazare Kapanadze, and Sandro Abesadze.

Tbilisi State Russian Drama Theater named after A. Griboyedov - the first professional theater group in the Caucasus, the oldest Russian theater in the post-Soviet space. The theater was founded in Tbilisi on September 20, 1845 by the Governor of the Caucasus, Count M. At the request of Vorontsov. Many prominent people started their careers from the Griboyedov Theater. Since 1999, the theater has been directed by Avtandil Varsimashvili, laureate of the State Prize of Georgia. In 2013, the Griboedov Theater received the Theater Star Award in the nomination Best Russian Theater Abroad.
