Jubilee Author’s Evening of Eka Kvaliashvili

On May 23, at the Tbilisi Grand Concert HallSPARKS presents a special creative jubilee evening of the exceptional Georgian singer, composer, pianist, and musician — Eka Kvaliashvili.

For the first time, Eka will appear before the audience primarily as a composer, presenting her own music in a theatrical concert format.

She is the recipient of numerous awards:
 "Miss Rock Europe '92"
 "Batumi Troubadours" Grand Prix '95
 Best Vocalist of 2000
 Best Performer of the Decade
 “Liga ’96”, “Mega 2006”, “Golden Disc” and more

Her repertoire spans Georgian folk, jazz, soul, pop, and romance genres, with a focus on her own compositions — filled with national identity and deep love for her homeland, Tbilisi and Georgia.

The concert will be guided by musicologist Maia Datunashvili, who will introduce both familiar and previously unseen aspects of Eka’s decades-long creative journey.

Special guests:
Temur Tatarashvili, Roma Rtskhiladze, Nuka Kvaliashvili, Anri Jokhadze, Luka Chokhonelidze, the "Tbilisuri" quartet, pianist Levan Chkhaidze, and Nika Adikashvili.

Musical arrangement by maestro Zurab Makhniashvili, string orchestra, and instrumental band.

Tbilisi Concert Hall (Tbilisi State Philharmonic) is a concert organization located on Merab Kostava Street, 36/1. This is one of the main attractions of the capital of Georgia. The largest concerts and important cultural events with the participation of local and foreign performers are held on the stage of the Philharmonic. The Philharmonic Concert Hall was built in 1971 according to the design of the architect I. Chkhenkeli. At the beginning of the 21st century, the hall was completely renovated. The Philharmonic Concert Hall has a main hall with 2,500 seats and a small hall with 750 seats. In 2001, a “Walk of Stars” was set up near the Philharmonic building, among those represented were the founder of the Georgian National Ballet Nino Ramishvili, the famous singer Nani Bregvadze, violinist Liana Isakadze, vocal and instrumental ensembles “Orera” and “Iveria”, composer Bidzina Kvernadze, artists Eter Kakulia, Teimuraz Tsiklauri and others. In 2014, the Philharmonic was named after composer Alexi Machavariani. In front of the hall there is a bronze sculpture “Muse” by sculptor Merab Berdzenishvili.
