The International Easter Festival was founded in 2006, and from the very beginning, its purpose, goal, and content were clearly defined — the promotion of national and global art and culture with the participation of top-tier artists. The festival’s special educational mission also became evident. The main focus group of the organizers is the youth, whose future must be shaped on the edge of refined taste so that they can properly and objectively evaluate artistic phenomena. Over the years, the festival has brought together prominent figures and artists of our time. Since its founding, the festival has been supported by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, the Ministry of Culture of Adjara, Tbilisi City Hall, the municipalities of Batumi, Kutaisi, Borjomi, the Kakheti region, and Telavi City Hall, as well as foreign embassies in Georgia — with special mention of the Embassy of Italy for its continued support.
The year 2025 marks the anniversary of the festival. It already has a 20-year history.
Currently, the honorary artistic advisor of the International Easter Festival is world-renowned pianist Alexander Korsantia. The founder and organizer is musicologist Manana Khvedelidze.
