“Vano Sarajishvili and Sandro Inashvili - Opera Gala”
The gala combines outstanding opera arias, theatrical episodes, live narration and unique archival material. This is an unforgettable journey into the origins of Georgian opera.
The co-author and host of the evening, Nikoloz Tsulukidze, tells the audience about important episodes in the life and work of Vano Sarajishvili and Sandro Inashvili - their first meeting, friendship, stage successes, separation and the legacy they left to Georgian culture.
Vano Sarajishvili and Sandro Inashvili are among those Georgian artists who brought Georgia's name to the opera stages of Europe and the world at the beginning of the 20th century and made a significant contribution to the development of Georgian vocal art. Vano and Sandro were one of the founders of Georgian opera vocal art and the first performers of many Georgian opera parts.
This is not only an opera gala and an evening dedicated to two great artists, but also a journey into the history of Georgian opera - to the era when the voices of Vano Sarajishvili and Sandro Inashvili determined the future of Georgian opera art.
The gala will feature arias from the operas “Abesalom and Ether”, “Daisy”, “Carmen” and other famous opera works.
