On March 3, the Grand Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire will host the first concert of pianist Valerian Shiukashvili’s new project, “Valerian Shiukashvili — Generation.” The event will consist of two parts.
In the first part, 12 outstanding young pianists from various regions of Georgia — winners of multiple music competitions — will perform Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s “The Seasons” (Op. 37a).
In the second part, Georgian virtuoso pianist Valerian Shiukashvili will perform Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition.”
Future events of the project will feature other successful young musicians, with a different program presented each time.
The project aims to help young Georgian musicians adapt to performing on major stages and gain experience in front of large audiences. For many years, Valerian Shiukashvili has played an active role in the country’s musical life — both as a soloist and as the founder of several music festivals and competitions. His contribution to discovering young talents and shaping them as future artists is invaluable. This project is designed to further support their development and successful musical careers.
