Description

“Treasure Island” is a two-act adventure performance based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. Filled with pirates, true gentlemen, sea mysteries, and unexpected twists, the спектакль transports the audience into a world of adventure where courage, loyalty, and the responsibility of choice intertwine.

The story follows the unforgettable journey of young Jim Hawkins, which begins with the discovery of an old map and leads him onto a path filled with pirates, treasure hunters, and dangerous intrigues. Along the way, Jim must choose between good and evil, trust and betrayal.

Directed by Mamuka Tsertsvadze, the production preserves the adventurous spirit of the classic work while offering modern theatrical interpretations. This is the director’s first performance at the Theatre for Young Audiences.

The show is full of adventure, humor, duels, music, and unexpected plot twists. “Treasure Island” is a story about a dream filled with danger, but it is through this journey that a person is shaped.

The performance is equally engaging for both young audiences and adults—for anyone who believes that true treasure is not only gold, but also experience and courage. It is a story about friendship, bravery, and the idea that real treasure lies not only in gold, but in loyalty and adventure.

Nodar Dumbadze Theater (ნოდარ დუმბაძის თეატრი)
In 1928 Alexander Takaishvili created the Georgian Theater of the Young Spectator. The premiere of the first performance "Fritz Bauer" (N. Sats) took place on 11 November. It was followed by performances: "Robin Hood" (S. Zayatsky), "The Man in Black Glasses" (V. Kurdyumov), "Hiawatha" (N. Ognev) and others. Spectators watched the performances with great interest. The success of these performances is the merit of the artists: G. Kuprashvili, T. Tvaliashvili, G. Darispanashvili, M. Ergneli, a little later: V. Areshidze, I. Ninua, A. Kachkachishvili, N. Sirbiladze, D. Tskhakaia, N. Khorava, M. Dzhadzhanashvili, I. Donauri, G. Deisadze, A. Kiasashvili, D. Dzneladze, A. Gviniashvili and others. In 1998, the Georgian and Russian Theater of the Young Spectator merged under the name of the Central Children's Theater named after N. Dumbadze. The theater began its joint activities in the former building of the Russian Youth Theater. Thanks to the Cartu Charitable Foundation and the theater management, the building was completely reconstructed.
