Writer Who Never Returned Home: Maia Panjikidze in conversation with Levan Berdzenishvili
Exhibition and Award Ceremony of the Photo Contest “From Generation to Generation”
On the occasion of Thomas Mann’s 150th jubilee year, the Goethe-Institut Georgien organized the photo contest “From Generation to Generation.”
The jury selected winning photographs for the exhibition, which reflect the invisible chains connecting generations. These images depict diverse scenes: everyday life, home interiors, abandoned objects, memory-filled walls, and people embodying the passage of time.
Each figure, place, or object captured in the photos connects childhood with old age, presence with absence, closeness with estrangement. Together, these works create a visual narrative that responds to the competition’s central question: What remains - in a glance, a gesture, a task, a routine, or an object - when people are gone?
Winning participants:
Dimitri Gorgiladze
Elene Glonti
Elena Jokharidze
Ana Gogshelidze
Levan Menteshashvili
Mariam Sukashvili
Levan Bidzinashvili
The first-place winner will be announced at the exhibition opening and awarded a photography course at Colab Academy (led by Guram Tsibakhashvili and Tinatin Kiguradze).
Venue: Garden of the Goethe Institute
