During the 1924 uprising, completely innocent people were repressed by the Bolsheviks. The play is based on documented historical events. The performance tells the tragic story of two families who became victims of the so-called “class purge.” A new era begins — but at what cost?
An eyewitness wrote in his diary: “They went through noble families, gathered the men, and executed them.”
The play was originally staged on April 18, 2022, at the Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Film.
The premiere of the new production will take place on March 11 and 12 at the Sokhumi State Drama Theatre.
