A pair of young Mormon missionary girls make their way through a sleepy American suburb. They’re invited in by Reed (Hugh Grant), an atheist theologian who proposes a philosophical discussion—but it quickly turns into a deadly seminar filled with psychological traps in a sealed-off room.

We’ve already been scared by monsters and vampires. By aliens too. Ghosts in the night, giant apes, creepy cults in sunlit meadows, even reanimated tomatoes in the fridge... But how about this: a charming, well-read middle-aged man, calmly philosophizing about religion? Sure, he’s talking nonsense (in our opinion), but that only makes it scarier.

 This psychological horror from A24 has critics raving, and Grant has already earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance.
