Tedo Rekhviashvili "Memory, Power & Temptations"

Rekhviashvili graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts with a master's degree in 2014, and in the same year, he held two solo exhibitions. He then continued his studies at the New York Academy of Arts, which he successfully graduated from in 2020. During this period, he already participated in exhibitions held according to the standards of the international art scene. Today, he is a participant in many exhibitions, fairs, and various projects. "Memory, Power, and Temptations" marks his first solo exhibition since returning from New York.

Tedo Rekhviashvili's solo exhibition, "Memory, Power, and Temptations," curated by Khatuna Khabuliani, features a multimedia project that has been in development for the past two years. In addition to painterly canvases, the exhibition includes objects and installations. The interests of the young yet already well-known artist extend beyond exploring the possibilities of the image to encompass social issues, the complex intersections of culture and power, and questions about society's values.

Rekhviashvili's paintings, layered collages, and installations are sharp and impressive; his critical understanding of problematic topics uniquely combines the characteristics of historical painting with the language of modern technology.
