Grammy-nominated pianist Andrius Zlabys is widely recognized as one of the most distinguished musicians of his generation.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra.
Žlabys performed as soloist in Between Two Waves by Victor Kissine, recorded with Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Balticaand released by ECM Records in 2013.
In 2012, he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 (K.467) with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.
His career has taken him to many of the world's most prestigious venues, including David Geffen Hall, Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, Phillips Collection, Teatro Colón, Wigmore Hall, Musikverein, and Suntory Hall.
In 2003, he received a Grammy nomination for a recording of the Piano Quintet by George Enescu with Kremerata Baltica.
While his repertoire is remarkably broad, the music of Johann Sebastian Bach holds a special place in his artistic life. At the same time, he is a passionate advocate for contemporary music and regularly premieres works written especially for him.
Žlabys began studying piano at the age of six in Lithuania and later continued his education at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Curtis Institute of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, and Yale School of Music.
