Tbilisi Hills Trail Race

After the start on the main square of Tbilisi Hills, the route follows Teleti Ridge and after 3 kilometers starts to descend toward Tbilisi via beautiful serpentine. After losing about 400 vertical meters the route enters Krtsanisi streets, before crossing Krtsanisi Khevi River and starting to climb to the Teleti Ridge once again, but with a different route this time. After reaching the top the route leads back to the start/finish location. Amazing views on Tbilisi, Kojori Forest, Kumisi Lake and Shavnabada Monastery are seen from different parts of the route and unusual perspectives on Mount Kazbegi can also be seen in good weather. The route follows the trails surrounded by the trees/bushes and with characteristic flowering cacti. Yes, that’s correct, cacti, avoiding scary spines of which adds another level of challenge to the race. The race is also distinct from other TRAILLAB races with its unique elevation profile. As most of its 750 meters of elevation gain is concentrated in the second half of the distance and not in the first half, as for the other races.
