TBILISI: Exploring Saburtalo — Bridges, Mosaics, and Self-Built Homes

Once a land of orchards and fields, Saburtalo is now Tbilisi’s largest residential district.
This tour traces its transformation from the 1930s to the 2000s — from Stalinist designs to Soviet panel buildings, mosaics, and chaotic self-builds.

During the tour:
we’ll travel up the district’s main streets
visit university buildings, the Trade Union Palace of Culture, monuments, and mosaics
 end with a walk to the iconic “bridge buildings” on Nutsubidze Street
