Suspiria

A young American ballerina (Dakota Johnson) arrives in Berlin to join a renowned dance company. Naturally, something demonic begins to happen; looking at Tilda Swinton in red attire, it’s easy to guess—something witchy is afoot.

A loose remake of the Italian horror classic ("Suspiria" by Dario Argento from 1977) featuring top stars (two Tilda Swintons, one Chloë Grace Moretz) and a soundtrack by Thom Yorke. The director himself claimed that this is not a remake but a "thank you" for the "strong emotions" he experienced while watching the original film.

«Suspiria» is a revived yet remaining invisible fear, majestic and boundless. It is in the Egyptian patterns on the walls of the mansion, in the sound of the wind outside the window, in the voices behind the walls, in the empty bed of the roommate, in the crude laughter of a bourgeois pub, in the rustle of invisible wings above the deserted square, indifferently spread out like an opera set. When the concentration of fear becomes unbearable, it explodes with horror: harmless things and creatures go insane, throw off their masks, and attack their victims. But when the last chords of horror fade away, caring surroundings begin to convince both the heroine and the viewers that nothing special happened, there is a rational explanation for everything, and something simply appeared as an illusion.
