Description

Sporting ITC Georgia

Organized by FC Rustavi and supported by Rustaveli Group, Georgia will host the Sporting International Training Camp (Sporting ITC) for the first time from June 3 to June 7.

Sporting ITC is a football development program based on the methodology of Sporting Clube de Portugal - one of the most successful football academies in the world, which has developed world-class players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Luís Figo, Nani and many others. Furthermore, Georgian players - Giorgi Kochorashvili and Papuna Beruashvili have also formed part of the football history of Sporting Clube de Portugal, underscoring the club’s global stature and its meaningful connection with Georgian football.

The Sporting International Camp is a space for learning, development and inspiration, combining professional training sessions, international experience, teamwork and discipline.

The camp is designed for boys and girls aged 6 to 16, both beginners and advanced players. Throughout the program, participants will enhance their technical skills and receive professional guidance from coaches of the Sporting Academy.

At the end of the camp, with the support of FC Rustavi and the Rustavi City Hall, two outstanding players will be selected to travel to Portugal for experience at the Sporting Academy Summer Camp.

Sporting ITC is part of the long-term strategy of FC Rustavi and Rustaveli Group, aiming to establish a Sporting Academy in Rustavi, Georgia, and to introduce European football standards at a regional level.

Location

Tbilisi
Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of around 1.2 million people. Tbilisi was founded in the fifth century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Because of its location at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, and its proximity to the lucrative Silk Road, throughout history, Tbilisi has been a point of contention among various global powers. To this day, the city's location ensures its position as an important transit route for energy and trade projects. Tbilisi's history is reflected in its architecture, which is a mix of medieval, neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist, and Modern structures. Historically, Tbilisi has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, though its population is overwhelmingly Eastern Orthodox Christian.
