SpeakLab • Speak & Read is a course designed to:

  • build clear, correct, and cultured speech and develop the ability to express ideas in a structured and confident way;

  • boost teenagers’ interest in reading and literature;

  • develop self-expression and public speaking skills through debates and discussions;

  • introduce the basics of theatrical and expressive reading, enhancing emotion, intonation, and delivery;

  • explore and analyze Georgian cinema;

  • strengthen critical and analytical thinking, including listening to different viewpoints and giving reasoned evaluations;

  • improve social and communication skills through collaboration, respect, and teamwork.

SpeakLab is a unique development course for children and teens aged 9–18, where words become power and reading becomes thinking.

What students will learn:

  • clear and correct speech;

  • how to present thoughts in an organized way;

  • expressive reading and emotional intonation;

  • understanding and discussing literary works;

  • debates and healthy discussion;

  • analyzing Georgian cinema;

  • self-expression and confidence.

When?
Starts February 7
Sessions: Saturday or Sunday
Duration: 3 months12 sessions.

Location: Tbilisi, 67 Merab Kostava St. — European Academic Center training space.

Fee: 150 GEL (per month)

Age groups:

  • 9–11

  • 12–14

  • 15–18
    (individual program for each group)

After completing the course, participants will receive a certificate.

Tbilisi
Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of around 1.2 million people. Tbilisi was founded in the fifth century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Because of its location at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, and its proximity to the lucrative Silk Road, throughout history, Tbilisi has been a point of contention among various global powers. To this day, the city's location ensures its position as an important transit route for energy and trade projects. Tbilisi's history is reflected in its architecture, which is a mix of medieval, neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist, and Modern structures. Historically, Tbilisi has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, though its population is overwhelmingly Eastern Orthodox Christian.
