SORRENTINO'S SOUNDSCAPES
Simple Music Ensemble World & Auditoria
Auditoria becomes Simple Music House Tbilisi, the permanent home of Simple Music Ensemble World in Tbilisi. The new concert series opens with a program dedicated to the music of Paolo Sorrentino's films.
For Sorrentino, music is never merely an accompaniment to the image—it is an essential part of his cinematic language. It challenges what happens on screen, creates powerful contrasts, and often reveals more about the characters than dialogue itself.
His films are built on the tension between the sacred and the ordinary, silence and spectacle, beauty and emptiness. It is within this contrast that Sorrentino has created his unmistakable cinematic universe.
The Great Beauty (2013) earned Sorrentino an Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA, and four European Film Awards, including Best Film. His Youth (2015) was named Best European Film, while Sorrentino received the award for Best European Director.
