Warm summer evenings, silent cinema classics, and live music return to the courtyard of the Goethe-Institut Georgiawith this year's Sommerkino program.

The 2026 edition is dedicated to Georg Wilhelm Pabst, one of the most influential and controversial filmmakers of the Weimar Republic.

Known for his psychological depth and fearless exploration of social issues, Pabst portrayed the realities of his era with remarkable honesty and insight.

Angela Christlieb's documentary takes audiences on a journey through the life and creative legacy of Georg Wilhelm Pabst. The film explores how the director brought some of his era's most provocative and taboo subjects to the screen, offering a fresh perspective on one of cinema's most influential pioneers.

💬 The screening will feature English and Georgian subtitles (Georgian translation by Mariam Paichadze).

🎤 A discussion with film scholar Mariam Tvalavadze will follow the screening.
