International prize-winner Professor Boris Bloch will present a solo concert featuring works by Mozart, Liszt, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff.
The concert is dedicated to the memory of Dmitri Bashkirov.
Born in Odesa, pianist and conductor Boris Bloch has long been recognized as one of the most distinguished performers of classical and romantic piano repertoire. One of the most influential literary critics of the German-speaking world, Marcel Reich-Ranicki, described him as a “fierce poet.”
Bloch studied at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where his teachers included the renowned pianists Dmitri Bashkirov and Tatiana Nikolayeva.
He is a laureate of numerous international piano competitions, including the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition and competitions associated with Arthur Rubinstein. His concert career includes both solo performances and appearances with leading orchestras and conductors worldwide.
