Shinel

St. Petersburg stories "Shinel" - one of the most famous and mysterious works not only in Russia, but also in world literature. The interpretation of the story is numerous and all of them sound convincing in their own way. The director, Avtandil Varsimashvili, in his own perception of "Shineli", follows Goffman's interpretation, but, as always, in his own way. It breaks the classic - the audience will not be presented with classic Gogol characters, but actors who play "Shinel" live on stage here and now. It is a play of faerie, a play of phantasmagoria, a play of magic prism, and it is about love. Akaki Akakevich on the stage of the Griboyedov Theater is not a downtrodden little person who can't do anything, he is a creator - an artist of letters. Bashmachkin does not dream of Shinel, but of love, and in the end he finds it, although this love is simply stolen from a harmless, sad person.
