A story of a love triangle in the heart of sordid Spanish taverns. Scorpion or The Ceremony emerges from the gypsy splendor that allows its history to bleed out amidst obscenities, the zambra dance, and thorns. This scoundrel gathers with himself each night, thrusts himself into the performance with a flamenco cry, sprinkles it with courage, and begins his interpretation of “La Cangrejo,” the woman who was the love of his life and is no longer here. Alacrán comes to remember her while he settles into the black, funny, and absurd tragicomedy that is his life.
