Rushmore

Max Fischer is a tenth-grade student at the prestigious Rushmore Academy. His grandiose successes are enviable: he's the editor of the school newspaper, captain of various teams, president of countless school clubs, and a hopeless underachiever. Max finds himself on probation, during which he can't think of anything better than falling in love with a young teacher.

This was Wes Anderson's second film, and it gave a great start to both Anderson himself and the lead actor, Jason Schwartzman, marking his debut. Additionally, the film unexpectedly revived the career of Bill Murray, one of the "Ghostbusters," who was starting to be forgotten. Since then, Murray, disdaining Hollywood, has only appeared in "independent" cinema.
