Presentation of the “Typomania in Tbilisi” Almanac
What can a city reveal through its plants, birds, light, scents, passersby, wall inscriptions, or even stray dogs?
Participants of Typomania School's field workshop spent five days exploring Tbilisi through observation, research, and documentation, examining the city from a variety of unexpected perspectives. Their findings and impressions have been collected in the collaborative almanac “Typomania in Tbilisi.”
During this presentation, visitors will discover a publication that was entirely created by the students themselves. From developing concepts and gathering materials to designing, printing, and binding the final edition, every stage was completed as part of an intensive creative laboratory held from June 10 to 15.
Each chapter offers a unique perspective on Tbilisi, transforming an ordinary walk through the city into a fascinating visual and cultural investigation.
Typomania School is an educational project for designers, typographers, and anyone interested in visual culture. The school is known for its hands-on courses in graphic design, typography, editorial design, and type design, taught by practicing art directors, designers, and curators working on major cultural and commercial projects.
The Tbilisi workshop was curated by Evgeny Korneev, Alexander Vasin, Arina Levitskaya, and Natalia Velchinskaya.
