As part of the “Mental Health” lecture series at the Academy of Thinking, a salon-style conversation will take place with Natia Fanjikidze.
Topic: The Potential of Expressive Art Therapy in Mental Health Management
Art therapy is a psychotherapeutic approach that spans a broad spectrum of consciousness, using art as a universal language of communication and self-expression.
It goes beyond non-verbal emotional expression, incorporating verbal processes such as narrative therapy, storytelling techniques, symbolic poetry, music, and movement therapy.
This approach allows access to the subconscious through spontaneous and imaginative imagery, creating a space for dialogue with the dream-like language of the mind.
Visual psychotherapy activates both hemispheres of the brain, enabling access to analytical and creative resources. Through art, individuals gain tools to resolve psychological conflicts, symbolically express inner processes, and develop abstract thinking, imagination, and creativity.
These topics will be explored on May 7 at the Academy of Thinking in a salon-style format. The event will include both theoretical insights and practical discussions. The second part will be dedicated to audience Q&A and dialogue.
