Teacher Spiros is retiring, and he finally has enough time for his beloved hobby—beekeeping. In anticipation of spring, Spiros loads half a hundred beehives into his truck and sets off from northern Greece to the south to welcome spring there. The old beekeeper slowly makes his way through the Greek landscapes, but the road leads him not to the future, but to the past. Each town, each encounter is a quiet reminder of losses and of what was once important to him. In his wanderings, the protagonist seems to be searching not only for spring for his beloved bees but also for the meaning of his own life.
