“Oxymoron” at Movement Theatre
This performance is presented in a silent disco format — audience members receive headphones, and each scene unfolds through them. Using choreography and the language of physical theatre, the performers bring to life various “oxymoronic” situations that reflect everyday life.
It is a disco that is silent — and that is exactly why it is an oxymoron.
The performance breaks away from traditional theatrical form and is presented in a Happening style.
Audience members are free to move around the space, follow the rhythm, become part of the action, or even leave the hall wearing their headphones and return later.
An oxymoron is a combination of contradictory words that reflects the paradoxes of everyday life — such as “small crowd,” “peaceful chaos,” or “fast queue.” The performance brings these contradictions to life through a wordless and allegorical theatrical language.
