Description

SPARKS presents — a concert by one of the pioneers of Georgian folk and folk-rock music, Niaz Diasamidze, and his band 33ა, at the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic.

Special guests: the renowned Polish band VOLOSI.

Niaz Diasamidze is a true polymath — apart from writing music and lyrics, he paints, makes folk instruments, crafts wine, restores furniture, and more. His music reflects this diversity — a unique blend of reggae, rock, folk, gypsy melodies, and Tbilisi-inspired sounds — from duduks to Otar Ramishvili. Sometimes, all of it comes together in a single song.

Creative honesty and constant exploration have made 33ა one of Georgia’s most beloved bands for over 25 years. And of course, 33ა is more than Niaz — the band includes some of the country’s top musicians, who are essential to its distinctive sound.

VOLOSI — a Polish band with over 900 concerts worldwide — was born in the Beskid Mountains after an unexpected meeting between traditional and contemporary musicians. Their music is wild, expressive, and blends genres like rock, punk, jazz, and film scores with ambient textures — all performed entirely on string instruments, making their sound truly exceptional.

VOLOSI’s performances are emotional and immersive — joyful, inspiring, soulful, melancholic, and deeply reflective. They’ve been praised by The GuardianBBCRFWM Festival, and many more.

On April 26VOLOSI will share the stage with Niaz Diasamidze & 33ა at the Philharmonic Grand Hall.

Tbilisi Concert Hall (Tbilisi State Philharmonic) is a concert organization located on Merab Kostava Street, 36/1. This is one of the main attractions of the capital of Georgia. The largest concerts and important cultural events with the participation of local and foreign performers are held on the stage of the Philharmonic. The Philharmonic Concert Hall was built in 1971 according to the design of the architect I. Chkhenkeli. At the beginning of the 21st century, the hall was completely renovated. The Philharmonic Concert Hall has a main hall with 2,500 seats and a small hall with 750 seats. In 2001, a “Walk of Stars” was set up near the Philharmonic building, among those represented were the founder of the Georgian National Ballet Nino Ramishvili, the famous singer Nani Bregvadze, violinist Liana Isakadze, vocal and instrumental ensembles “Orera” and “Iveria”, composer Bidzina Kvernadze, artists Eter Kakulia, Teimuraz Tsiklauri and others. In 2014, the Philharmonic was named after composer Alexi Machavariani. In front of the hall there is a bronze sculpture “Muse” by sculptor Merab Berdzenishvili.
