Mzekala Shanidze 100 — Jubilee Event Series

“I have walked this path for a hundred years, and whatever remains ahead, I will continue along the same path.”

To mark the 100th anniversary of Mzekala Shanidze, Ilia State University will host a jubilee event series from January 23 to February 26. The program includes meetings with students, panel discussions, presentations of academic publications, seminars, and public lectures.

On January 23, Ilia State University Rector Nino Doborjginidze will present Mzekala Shanidze with the Ilia Medal and a Scientific Award. The jubilee series will conclude with an evening dedicated to the anniversary of Akaki Shanidze, the presentation of the book Correspondence between Akaki Shanidze and Winfried Boeder, and an exhibition of their correspondence from 1960–1987.
