Description

“Mon humeur est mon État!” — a lecture and media performance by Valera Belov

Mon humeur est mon État! (“My mood is my state!”) is the title of the first work and the unifying idea of the Neurosincere project series.

The slogan refers to the protest sentiments of the 1968 student movements and rephrases the famous quote of Louis XIV: “L'État, c'est moi” (“I am the state”).

The project is both a dream and an homage to the events of the Red May — an ironic laboratory for creating a utopia that, imitating pop music, generates and sells emotions as its only commodity.

Mood becomes the only currency that can be exchanged within this imagined world.
An electroencephalograph, replacing the internet, becomes the main political medium of this era, while its financial mechanism is built on a pseudo-scientific financial scheme.
