A solo program by pianist German Markhasin, dedicated to minimalist music, will be presented.
The concert will take place in a unique 17th-century historical building — the Forakishvili Hall, a rare architectural space that gives the music a special atmosphere.
Minimalism is one of the most important musical movements of the second half of the 20th century. Transparent and accessible, it captivates with its clarity and simplicity. This music guides the listener toward concentration and a meditative state, transforming the perception of time and space.
The program features works by leading minimalist composers:
Philip Glass, John Cage, John Adams, Michael Nyman, and Arvo Pärt.
German Markhasin is a pianist, laureate of international competitions, curator of musical programs, and music director of theatrical productions. He has performed in Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates, Latvia, Serbia, and Israel.
