Mestia Ultra

THE Most Epic race of the year!

Race distances:

● Fun Race: 6km, 300+m gain

● Trail: 21km, 1,000+m gain

● Mountain Marathon: 42km, 2,400+m gain

The event is held on July 18-19 and hosts all the adventurers, novice and experienced runners. Everyone will have a chance to experience the thrills of trail running within their preferred level of difficulty by choosing the race distance from 6km fun race to 100km ultra trail race.

The start of the race will be located in the center of Legendary city of Mestia and all the races will start and finish there.

More detail about each distance:

Fun Race: 6km, 300+m

Usually the most crowded and fun race of the event. Passing the famous Svan towers of Mestia the route of the race reaches the forest just above the town with some beautiful views on Mestia.

Trail: 21km, 1,000+m gain

The relatively shorter but still challenging half marathon race goes all the way up to the Zuruldi ski slope and Cafe right at the top. Picturesque scenery will compensate for the hardships of the struggle.

Trail Marathon: 42km, 2,400m gain

Not your average marathon run. This is a 42 kilometer loop which starts in the city center, crosses forestry areas, a couple of mountain tops, creaks and gets back to Mestia from the other side of the city. Amazing views of the Caucasus mountain range awaits participants.

Mestia Ultra: 70km, 4,500+m.

70 Kilometers of epicness. Starting from the Mestia city center, the will cover breathtaking spots and views from various peaks and ridges around Mestia and tiny enchanting villages. 70K runners will start the race and share the most part of the route with 100K participants.

Mestia 100K: 105km, 6,400+m

The main race of 100K fully encompasses the course of the ultra 70k race with an additional 30 km loop around Adishi village and Tetnuldi Ski Slopes. In just the first few kilometers of the route participants will reach the highest point of the race at around 3,400 meters above sea level just above the famous Koruldi Lakes nestled at the base of the renowned Ushba Mountain.

Overall runners will be climbing several steep peaks with an average altitude of 2600m above sea level.

The runners must pass the given control/refreshment points and reach the finish in the following cut-off times:

● Fun Race - 02:00 hours - Overall

● Trail - 04:00 hours - Overall

● Trail Marathon - 10:00 hours - Overall

● Mestia Ultra - 22:00 hours - Overall (Cut off time to Adishi Crossroad Aid Station - 13 Hours)

● Mestia 100 - 30:00 hours - Overall ((Cut off time to Adishi Crossroad Aid Station 1 - 13 Hours, Adishi Crossroad Aid Station 2 - 20 Hours)
