Description

📜 The mimodrama Medea is based on ancient historiography and mythology, as well as local ethno-folkloric narratives. The performance combines mimodrama, animation, modern technology, and prehistoric motifs.

⛵ The story begins with Jason’s voyage aboard the Argo. Hypsipyle, the mother of his children, curses Jason and Medea, but the priestess Sibyl warns her that destiny cannot be changed. Meanwhile, Medea performs mystical and healing rituals in Circe’s garden.

🏛️ The Argonauts arrive in Colchis. After discovering their intentions, Aeëtes orders Medea to kill the foreigners. However, the voice of Medea’s sister stops her, and she refuses to obey her father’s command. Medea chooses mercy, love, and humanity.

❤️ Love blossoms between Medea and Jason. She leaves Colchis and embarks on a difficult journey with him. Apsast dies and Aia falls. Their path is marked by danger and tragedy.

⚔️ With Medea’s help, Jason regains his throne and gives himself over to earthly pleasures. Disillusioned, Medea is drawn into a series of dramatic events — conflict, betrayal, revenge, murder, the fall of kingdoms, and more.

🔥 After enduring countless trials and suffering, Medea begins a journey of inner purification and transformation. Her life becomes a struggle with destiny, love, guilt, and herself.

⚖️ In the epilogue, Medea’s life is brought before the final judgment. Her choices and actions are examined, and ultimately she is absolved by the world, including the supreme power.

❤️ The central message of the performance is that pain can become the beginning of a new metamorphosis, while love is the greatest force for human salvation and purification.
