The project Georgia in your mind, featuring the band Shin and Maia Baratashvili, is aimed at both Georgian and international audiences interested in experimental art.
The repertoire includes works by renowned Georgian and American composers, arranged by Shin with rich incorporations of Georgian folk music, alongside elements of world music:
Spanish flamenco, Balkan rhythms, Indian ragas, and jazz.
The project targets three key listener groups:
fans of Georgian folk music, jazz, and world music.
The program is bold and exploratory — blending Herbie Hancock and Revaz Lagidze, John McLaughlin, Stephen Sondheim, Joe Zawinul, Inola Gurgulia, and original compositions by Zaza Miminoshvili into single pieces.
It also features elements of Georgian traditional and contemporary dance.
The pieces performed in this program fuse vivid elements of global musical heritage with a deeply Georgian spirit, forming a unique communicative language.
This helps foster understanding of cultural diversity, access to the world’s musical consciousness, and harmonious integration into the international cultural space.
Program duration: 1 hour 20 minutes
Format: dynamic and diverse
