Maceo Plex is a genre-defying electronic artist known for immersive performances and a signature sound that spans techno, electro, breaks, and IDM. Hailed by Mixmag as “the stuff of legend,” he once held #1 across three Beatport genres and has landmark tracks like Solar Detroit, Conjure Balearia, and Can't Leave You. He records also as Mariel Ito and Maetrik, each alias with a distinct sonic identity. Born in Miami to Cuban immigrants, raised in the city’s vibrant party culture, and later developing his craft in Dallas, he bought his first MPC after saving dishwashing wages. The Maceo Plex project crystallized after a 2010 move to Valencia, Spain. His Boiler Room sets (Berlin, Ibiza) are widely cited career highlights; 2023’s album ’93’ is a personal, cinematic statement. At ADE 2025 he offered an in-depth Solitary Daze breakdown, and with new releases and global headline dates ahead, he remains a leading, restless force in contemporary electronic music.
