"Blue Bird"
Maurice Maeterlinck
On the night before Christmas, the boy and girl Tyltil and Mytil are visited by the Fairy Berylyune. The Fairy's granddaughter is sick, and only the Blue Bird can save her. Thanks to the Fairy's magical gift, children get the opportunity to see the souls of things. Inanimate objects (Clock, Fire, Water, Bread, Milk, etc.) are transformed into living beings with their own character.
Together they set off on a dangerous journey to find the fabulous blue bird. Tyltil and Mytil communicate with their deceased grandparents, find themselves in the kingdom of the night, the revived forest, the garden of bliss, the kingdom of the future, after which they return back and give the blue bird to the sick granddaughter of the fairy.
