A meeting will be held at the Academy of Thinking with Zurab Oragvelidze, Head of Football Development at FC Dinamo Batumi and founder of the football agency “Cornea,” on the topic: “Long-Term Football Player Development (Vision and Planning).”
The lecture focuses on the development pathway of a football player from ages 6 to 19, covering both athletic training and the principles of physical, cognitive, and mental development of young athletes. It will explore how to plan the training process according to age-specific characteristics, which methodological approaches are most effective at different stages, and how to manage training loads, especially during periods of physical maturation.
The session will also address often overlooked but critical factors influencing a player’s progress: sleep, recovery, nutrition, and lifestyle, and their impact on technical, tactical, physical, and mental development. Special attention will be given to one of the most important transition stages — moving from academy football to professional level — including the risks involved and how both players and their environment can prepare for it.
This lecture will be valuable for young footballers, their parents, coaches, and football managers who want to better understand player development systems and make informed decisions.
