Falling Leaves

A pseudo-documentary story of two young people working at a winery – a delightful snapshot of life in Georgia in the 1960s and the director's debut in feature films. Southern "Italian" courtyards with intricately carved balconies and spiral staircases, where all the residents have known each other since childhood. Harvesting, a winemaking technology that has remained unchanged for centuries, and table songs – a living tradition that connects Georgians with their ancestors for thousands of years. This is why, when the management of the winery starts to dilute subpar alcohol, preserving the true Saperavi becomes a matter of conscience and honor for the protagonists, a question of preserving themselves.
