Lecture: Art Deco

This Friday, our space will host a special event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Art Deco style.
We will dive into a world of elegance, modernism, and the atmosphere of the “Roaring Twenties” — a time that deeply influenced 20th-century art and design.

During the event, we will:

● Define what Art Deco is and explore its origins — how it replaced Art Nouveau and paved the way for a new aesthetic.
● Take a virtual journey to the iconic 1925 Paris Exhibition, which marked the global recognition of Art Deco.
● Explore how Art Deco was embodied in the grand skyscrapers of the United States, becoming symbols of progress and a new era.
● Discuss the influence of this style on architecture and design throughout the 20th century, and how it continues to shape our everyday lives.
