The event is part of the XIV International Festival NOUMEN ART, supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Tbilisi.
This event has a story:
In the fall of 2017, renowned Norwegian pianist and composer Misha Alperin (1956–2018) shared a home video of his piano composition titled Tiflisi with friends. After listening, director Giorgi Davitashvili was so moved by its beauty that he promised to create an art film about Tbilisi using Tiflisi as its leitmotif. Unfortunately, the promise remained unfulfilled during the composer’s lifetime — Misha Alperin passed away on May 11, 2018.
Recently, Giorgi was inspired by the photographs of Dmitry Zverev, who has been documenting contemporary Tbilisi for the past two years. This led to the idea of holding a commemorative evening on May 11, where Alperin’s composition Tiflisi would be paired with Zverev’s evocative images of the city.
This unique fusion of music and photography will take place at IArt Gallery in Tbilisi.
The concert will feature:
Evelina Petrova-Alperin: accordion, vocals | Norway
Simona Weissenfels: piano | Germany
Rezo Kiknadze: saxophone | Georgia
Guram Machavariani: guitar | Georgia
Irakli Sanadiradze: percussion | Georgia
Guests of IArt Gallery will be welcomed with a friendly reception hosted by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Tbilisi.
