A touching story about stakes in romantic relationships, the reality of a crane in the sky, and non-violent communication. A young girl starts a romance with a guy, but when saying goodbye, she makes a mistake in the address and then spends her whole life hoping, hoping, hoping... And years go by, the daughter grows up, and life moves on.
Friends, we have watched many movies where the characters suffer, and as a result, they argue, lie, manipulate, and generally pull the blanket towards themselves. But are there movies not about how not to do things but about the opposite? Where, like in a fairy tale, everyone is honest and open, doesn't lie to themselves and others, and shows endless trust towards each other? There are few such idyllic films, but they exist. And this one is one of our favorites.
In addition to "Winter Tale," Eric Rohmer directed three more films: "Spring...," "Summer...," and "Autumn...". They are all wonderful, but "Winter" is our favorite.
