A former orphan, unloved in childhood and not very successful, Vitka “Chesnok" (“Garlic”) wants to escape from his "tedious and interfering" family. But suddenly he learns that his father, a criminal, is in town — Lyokha “Shtyr” ("A pintle", in Russian criminal slang - "Tall thin man"), who is confined to a wheelchair. Without much thought, "Chesnok" decides to take "Shtyr" to a nursing home, intending to claim his apartment for himself later. Thus begins their adventures.
This is a very kind and uplifting film, where behind the facade of immoral behavior and the exaggerated maximalism of street kids' unbridled ambitions lie love, compassion, fear of loneliness, past grievances, and the pain of losing loved ones. This film is a great opportunity to discuss relationships with parents, especially the role of a father in a boy's life.
The meeting will be led by clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst, and psychology instructor Irina Kozlova.
